Real Reasons to Get Healthy

We all know the "right" reasons for seeking a healthier lifestyle: to reduce the risks of heart disease, diabetes, and other ailments.  But let's face it. . . it's really freakin' hard to put down that juicy cheeseburger today, because I might have a heart attack 15 years from now!

It's like my father used to say, "If everyone died after smoking just one cigarette, nobody would bother to try it in the first place."

So let's think about the real reasons to pursue a healthier lifestyle.

* Success in shopping.  My local mall has 36 stores devoted to clothing and I can only shop in three of them!  That's pathetic and severely limiting.

* Better sex.  Confidence is the sexiest attribute in anyone, but it is hard to feel confident and in-the-moment when you are too busy worrying if you are jiggling in all the wrong ways.

* Less sweat.  Sweat between the butt cheeks, underneath the boobs, etc.

* No more wrinkled decolletage - I'm primarily a side-sleeper and the extra skin and pounds means that my cleavage literally folds in half while I sleep which makes for hella wrinkles in the morning.  Sometimes it takes most of the day for it to fade.  Talk about making a girl look 10 years older - that'll do it!

* More space.  I have a box of "inspiration clothes", a box of "wear in about 10 pounds from now", a box of "these fit last year", and a box of "shit, my fat box is now my skinny box!".  Now double those for summer and winter versions and I'm officially about to be a candidate for the show "Clean House".

* No more sewing.  I have a box of miscellaneous buttons because eventually the constant strain on my pants pops off a button or two - usually in the middle of the workday.  Just lovely.

There will be more as I think about it.
